Businessinsider reports Paramount+ brought in about 1 million new subscribers on the day of its first UFC event, product chief Dane Glasgow told employees at a town hall, three staffers who attended said.

A Paramount spokesperson said those numbers are unverified and that it is against company policy to share speculative data externally. Glasgow also told employees that Saturday was the second-largest day of sign-ups ever for the streamer and that UFC 324 was the second-most-streamed sporting event on the service, according to two employees. Paramount has said the UFC main card drew just under 5 million average viewers, and CEO David Ellison told staff in an email it was "the largest-ever exclusive live event for Paramount+." The company made UFC matches available to all Paramount+ subscribers, with plans starting at $8.99 a month, after striking a $7.7 billion, seven-year US rights deal with UFC parent TKO in August.

For context, subscription data firm Antenna estimated Netflix's Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson added about 1.4 million US subscribers in November 2024 and estimated Paramount+ gained about 3.2 million US customers when it hosted the Super Bowl in 2024. Ellison's memo said the company hopes to build momentum at UFC 325 next weekend in Sydney, while the claim of roughly 1 million new sign-ups remains unverified by Paramount.
