Paranormal Activity Return Scheduled for May 21, 2027
Movieweb reports that, as per THR, the next Paranormal Activity movie is scheduled for release on May 21, 2027.
Blumhouse has announced James Wan, director of The Conjuring and Saw, is producing, and director Ian Tuason is attached to helm the found-footage film after his 2025 directorial debut with Undertone. The franchise began in 2009 and expanded through sequels that added witches, cults and even 3D trips to other dimensions, with the most recent installment being 2021's Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, which debuted on Paramount+.
The series reportedly "petered out creatively," and the new entry aims to "breathe life back" into the franchise, though a 'rebirth' may not mean an entirely new start to the lore. Further details remain under wraps, but Paramount's summer release date and Wan's involvement have been presented as signs of confidence, and the film is expected to reveal more information before its 2027 release.
