Parties at the Venice Film Festival are reached by speedboat and Cannes soirees unfold on the Côte d’Azur, but Sundance has long been the least chic of the major festivals — everyone wearing puffer jackets. Still, Charli XCX arrived in Park City to premiere her A24 film, “The Moment,” and anticipation for the after-party was so high that some festivalgoers were pushed to their last resort: texting me for tickets.

The party, in a club on Park City’s main street, was packed with big stars, It girls and pervasive branding like Facetune. Servers circulated with plates of tacos while guests negotiated crowded V.I.P. areas; Charli, in a tight white corset and a fur coat, was sequestered with co-stars Rachel Sennott and Kate Berlant before slipping away.

A24 publicists texted frantically, and police were doing crowd control on horseback outside as the night wound down. Charli has long leaned into a party-girl persona — “People think I’m, like, 365 party girl! Smoking cigs! White strappy top!” she said.
