Patrick Agyemang nets ninth as Derby rout Bristol City 5-0, bolsters USMNT case

Patrick Agyemang scored his ninth Championship goal as Derby County crushed Bristol City 5-0 on Friday night, Jan. 31, 2026, with the forward netting Derby’s fourth in a dominant victory, Goal/ Getty Images Sport reported.

The result lifted Derby to sixth in the table with 45 points and moved the club closer to the promotion spots.

Agyemang downplayed his individual moment, saying, "All of the goals were excellent today." He has three goals in his last four appearances and nine Championship goals this season.

The forward also credited team unity for the result: "I think we’re a very united team... we stuck to the plan, and I think moving forward we’re going to do big things," Agyemang said after the match.

With the World Cup set to be played on home soil, Goal said Agyemang is making his case to USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino; the forward has five goals in 12 USMNT appearances, was a regular starter during the Gold Cup and was not included in the last FIFA international window.
