Pax Jolie-Pitt, 22, Makes Rare Sundance Appearance at 'Self Custody' Screening
Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, the 22-year-old son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, made a rare appearance at a screening of Self Custody on Friday, Jan. 23, at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
He posed alongside director Garrett Patten and producer Fernando Ferro, wearing a red plaid overshirt, and was spotted chatting with the filmmakers behind the drama, which stars Adrian Grenier, before heading to a party at the festival.
Pax has been around filmmaking since he was a child: he attended the 2018 Golden Globes, walked the red carpet at the world premiere of Jolie’s 2019 film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, made a cameo in Jolie’s 2014 Maleficent and voiced the character Yoo in her 2016 film Kung Fu Panda 3.
Born in Vietnam on Nov. 29, 2003, Pax spent his early years at the Tam Binh Orphanage outside Ho Chi Minh City; Jolie adopted him in 2007 and Pitt formally adopted him in 2008. Pax is one of six children in the family, joining older brother Maddox (now 24), sisters Zahara (21) and Shiloh (19), and twins Knox and Vivienne (17).
It’s unclear whether Pax will pursue work in front of the camera: Jolie has said her children prefer the filmmaking process from the outside and that “none of my children want to be actors,” while also noting Pax’s interest in music and deejaying as a possible future direction.
