Percy Jackson season 2 viewing minutes fall sharply on Disney+
Movieweb reports that Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians has seen a sharp decline in viewing minutes for its second season, with Luminate Streaming Viewership data showing season 1 was streamed for 1.3 billion minutes across the US while season 2 has been watched for 483 million minutes so far.
The adaptation debuted on December 19, 2023 and was initially popular with subscribers; season 2 premiered last month but, despite the drop in minutes, is rated higher on Rotten Tomatoes (100% compared to 91% for season 1 at the time of writing). Season 1 covered The Lightning Thief, while season 2 adapts The Sea of Monsters, following Percy’s quest to recover the Golden Fleece and save Camp Half-Blood.
The report says fans can expect at least one more season, with Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Daniel Diemer, Dior Goodjohn and Charlie Bushell set to return. Joining the season 3 ensemble are Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite—whose official character description says she can "alter appearance depending on the beholder" and "must be sure that Percy Jackson respects the power and importance of love before she agrees to offer aid on his quest"—alongside Dafne Keen, Saara Chaudry, Olive Abercrombie and Levi Chrisopulos.
