Kinetic Games' latest roadmap for Phasmophobia indicates a 1.0 launch in 2026, with a major horror rework and lore update planned "sometime this year," the studio says.

The studio is branding the large horror and mechanics overhaul as Horror 2.0, or simply Phasmophobia 1.0. Kinetic says Horror 2.0 "will be the meatiest part of the 1.0 release" and aims to deliver new scares and surprises for seasoned players, though exact changes remain vague.

The long-awaited player character overhaul was delayed from Q4 2025 to Q1 2026. Kinetic previewed unique character models and says the update will include free cosmetics, but it won’t share further details until closer to a patch date.

The roadmap also lists a Unity 6 and network update, and map work scheduled for 2026: 6 Tanglewood Drive will get an extreme makeover in Q1 2026, 13 Willow Street is slated for later in the year, and an additional new map described as bringing "a new style of location" will appear sometime this year.

Kinetic plans to keep the usual seasonal events (Cursed Hollow, Crimson Eye, Winter’s Jest) on their regular timelines and teases a secret fourth limited-time event arriving this year.

Many specifics and exact timelines remain unclear; Kinetic says it will provide more information closer to individual patch dates, and if the roadmap holds the 1.0 launch would arrive close to Phasmophobia's sixth anniversary later this year.
