Details reported by Goal say former Manchester United defender Phil Jones refused to say Erling Haaland's name during a quick-fire Q&A and named summer signing Senne Lammens as the Premier League's best goalkeeper.

Jones, who retired in 2024 and now works with United's Under-18s and Under-21s while finalising his UEFA Pro Licence, said his academy role gives him a close view of new signings and rising talent.

He adopted a "he-who-must-not-be-named" approach when asked to pick the best forward, joking he had "forgotten" the name of the Man City striker, while praising Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers as best midfielder and Arsenal's Gabriel Magalhaes as best defender.

Jones also backed Ayden Heaven as the most underrated player, calling him "top, top player", and named Bruno Fernandes as his personal favourite in the division.
