Pcgamer reports the Pimax Crystal Super offers exceptionally high-fidelity visuals for sim enthusiasts, but its weight and cost limit its appeal. The headset ships with a 57 pixels-per-degree panel, 3,840 × 3,840 resolution per eye, a 90 Hz maximum refresh rate and a 140° horizontal field of view; tracking is handled by four cameras on the headset and it includes 120 Hz eye-tracking.

Spec sheets list connections as DisplayPort and USB Type-A, and the price is shown as $1,799 | $2,822 AUD | £1,393. Pimax recommends at least an RTX 2070 to run the device, though the reviewer says anything less than an RTX 4080 won’t fully exploit the display, and notes Pimax’s software is required for setup and some games.

Physically the Crystal Super is large and heavy, with speaker modules adding more weight. The fit is adjustable and the face rests are plush, but the headset becomes tiring in active games like Beat Saber and is better suited to seated sims and MSFS 2025; the reviewer could manage about an hour when sufficiently distracted.
