A report from Polygon says Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf preserves the full suite of abilities from the original while adding new powers, and a hands-on demo of the first two hours showed a more mature protagonist and a larger, more sophisticated world.

The demo highlights Lana’s expanded movement—wall jumping, dashing, and sliding—and uses an extended intro that doubles as an emotional tutorial. Core puzzles still rely on Lana’s bond with the cat-like Mui, whose abilities now include off-screen summoning and a hypnosis power that can effectively add a third participant to puzzles.

One sequence to retrieve seaweed required a complex, multi-area solution involving diving, hypnosis, and a sprung trap; the increased platforming focus can make timing tricky, but generous autosaves reduce the penalty for retries. Wishfully Studios has added a journal to aid exploration and made visual refinements to lighting and shadow, enhancing mood and immersion.
