Player spends three years recreating Mario Party 2 island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Polygon reports that Animal Crossing: New Horizons player adanteallegro has dedicated their entire island to Mario Party 2, sharing a Reddit post that says the project took approximately three years to complete.
The build recreates three Mario Party 2 boards — Horror Land, Pirate Land, and Western Land — and includes 17 minigame-themed areas such as Bowser's Big Blast, Cake Factory, and Honeycomb Habit. The Mario items used were introduced in a 2021 update, while the game's 3.0 update made it possible to purchase those special items without linking a Nintendo account. Many players have returned to New Horizons after the dual release of the life sim's 3.0 and Nintendo Switch 2 updates.
Adanteallegro listed a Dream Address for visitors; the article's writer, after traveling to the island via that Dream Address, said it looks even more impressive in person, praising small touches like Horror Land umbrellas designed to resemble the rolling eyeballs and an area displaying signs of Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Wario with presents underneath — presumably rewards for visiting friends.
