Pokémon Go adds Super Mega Raids and new Link Charge currency
Pokémon Go will add Super Mega Raids and a new currency, Link Charges, timed with the game’s next major event, Pokémon Go Tour: Kalos. These raids require at least eight trainers to defeat exceptionally powerful Mega-Evolved Pokémon and introduce a higher Mega tier called Super Max, with chances to battle Mega Victreebel and Mega Malamar.
Combat in Super Mega Raids changes when the opposing Mega-Evolved Pokémon becomes enraged and raises shields that reduce incoming damage. Each trainer can break one shield; if you do not have a Mega-Evolved Pokémon active, one from your battle party will be sent in automatically and its next attack will be significantly powered up to break a shield.
Once enough shields are broken the foe returns to its normal state and damage returns to usual for the remainder of the battle. Successfully completing a Super Mega Raid yields substantially more rewards than standard Mega Raids, including more Mega Energy.
