Pokémon TCG Pocket Drop Event resurfaces a common player pet peeve
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is running a Drop Event headlined by a Mega Medicham ex promo. Players clear battles against a computer-controlled opponent and earn single-card booster packs as rewards. The event’s set includes Mudkip, Plusle, Ralts, Tornadus and Mega Medicham ex, and players want to collect all five before the event ends.
The annoyance: each promo pack arrives in the gifts screen and must be opened one by one, with no option to rip multiple packs at once. This small friction has long frustrated the community. A January Reddit post titled “This is the worst part of every solo event for me” drew 4.7k upvotes, and complaints about slow-to-appear quality-of-life features—dark mode, universal pack points, skip animations and more—have persisted despite frequent updates and new cards.
Fans are asking whether the game will add a Claim All option, let players skip the pack-opening animation, or simply grant the card without a pack.
