PowerA Switch/Switch 2 wireless controller drops to $40 — under half Nintendo’s $89 Pro
Kotaku reports the PowerA enhanced wireless controller for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 is discounted to $40 on Amazon, down from its normal $70 price (a 43% discount). That undercuts the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, which has a $89 list price.
The PowerA pad does not include Nintendo’s dedicated C-Button for GameChat, a feature Nintendo added to its Pro Controller, but the article notes it still offers comfortable ergonomics, wireless connectivity and motion controls.
It also includes two customizable rear buttons (AGR and AGL) that can be mapped to any button and pulled with your trigger fingers to activate functions without taking thumbs off the sticks. Those back buttons can reportedly be programmed on the fly during gameplay.
The controller is powered by an internal rechargeable 900mAh battery, which Kotaku says can last up to 30 hours per charge, and it ships with a 10-foot USB-C cable so you can recharge while playing. PowerA offers many character-themed designs (Mario, Kirby, Metroid, Zelda) and most are currently marked down to the same $40 price.
Kotaku links the Amazon listing for the sale; the story does not specify how long the $40 discount will remain available.
