'Predator: Badlands' Tops Hulu Streaming Charts

FlixPatrol data show Predator: Badlands debuted on Hulu on Feb. 12 and quickly took the top spot on the platform, while also leading Disney+ in international territories. The film was a strong box-office performer, with a worldwide haul of $184 million, making it the most successful Predator movie to date.

The PG-13 rating prompted debate: reviews were mixed, with just 21% positive on Rotten Tomatoes, yet audiences turned out in large numbers. Badlands tones down some of the human carnage seen in earlier entries but still delivers graphic moments—decapitations, eviscerations and other intense sequences often presented as bright-green alien innards or mechanical amputations that the MPA treats differently.

The recent run of releases has revitalized the franchise. Dan Trachtenberg followed 2022’s streaming hit Prey with the animated Predator: Killer of Killers and then Badlands, and while no official follow-up projects have been announced, reports and rumors point to potential sequels.
