Prime Video's Secret Level: A Compact, Ambitious Video Game Anthology — Collider

Secret Level, an animated anthology created by Tim Miller, adapts a wide range of video games into 15 short episodes. Prime Video had earlier success with Jonathan Nolan’s Fallout, and these concise, emotionally complex shorts follow the model Miller established with Love, Death & Robots while offering focused, self-contained stories.

One entry, titled “And They Shall Know No Fear,” is the series’ Warhammer episode. It follows Sergeant Metaurus (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) as he recalls recruiting a fearless boy; years later the Space Marines face a Chaos sorcerer bent on destroying a relic. Minimal dialogue and clear visuals introduce Warhammer lore without overwhelming newcomers.

Other episodes draw from Dungeons & Dragons, Sifu, Exodus, Pac-Man, and The Outer Worlds, sometimes turning simple arcade premises into unexpectedly harrowing tales, as with the Pac-Man short.
