Prisco picks Broncos and Seahawks to reach Super Bowl
Cbssports' Prisco favors the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks to win their conference title games and reach the Super Bowl in his Championship Sunday picks. On the AFC side, Prisco points out that with Bo Nix out with a broken ankle the Broncos will start Jarrett Stidham, who hasn’t thrown a regular-season pass since 2023, and that coach Sean Payton believes in him and typically lets his quarterbacks play loose.
Prisco notes New England’s defense is stingy against the run and that the Bills were able to run on Denver last week, while New England is averaging 156.1 rushing yards per game over the last seven games; despite that, he thinks Denver will be better against the run and picks the Broncos 23, Patriots 21.
For the NFC game, Prisco recalls the teams split the season series with only one point separating them in combined scores and that Seattle won the last meeting in Week 16 in overtime at home. He says the Rams are on a third straight road game, struggled on offense last week against the Bears, and that Seattle’s defense is the best unit remaining; Prisco believes that defense will disrupt Matthew Stafford and that if Sam Darnold takes care of the football — something he did not do in a playoff loss last year with the Vikings — the Seahawks will prevail, his pick: Seahawks 23, Rams 17.
