Project: Gorgon leaves Steam Early Access after 8 years with 1.0 release
Project: Gorgon, the old-school fantasy MMO, has left Steam Early Access after eight years with a big 1.0 update; the game originally entered Early Access in 2018.
The title was conceived by husband-and-wife duo Eric Heimburg and Sandra Power, both former lead developers on legacy MMOs including Asheron's Call and EverQuest 1 and 2, GamesRadar reports.
GamesRadar notes that Sandra Power sadly passed away in 2025 after a three-year battle with cancer.
The outlet says Heimburg carrying the project to a full 1.0 launch is made all the more poignant given Power’s death, and describes Project: Gorgon as an ambitious and highly unique MMO.
The 1.0 update marks the end of the game's Early Access period, and GamesRadar framed the release as the start of a “next chapter.”
