Streaming PS3 games through PlayStation Plus Premium on PS5 has been reportedly broken for at least two weeks, preventing subscribers from booting classic PS3 titles via cloud streaming. The issue surfaced two weeks ago on the PS Plus subreddit in a thread titled "Got a problem with Streaming on PS5," where a user said they could not start Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.

Other players quickly reported the same problem, with PS3 cloud streaming games refusing to load—no error message, no attempt to boot. Kotaku reproduced the problem while trying to boot Fallout: New Vegas and other PS3 games from PS Plus and library menus on PS5. Dozens more subreddit threads followed, and moderators began deleting separate posts and directing users to a single megathread, as spotted by Push Square.

Players have found partial workarounds—such as launching a cloud streaming title from their library instead of the store—but those fixes do not work for everyone and can be temporary.
