Psycho Killer, directed by Gavin Polone and written by Andrew Kevin Walker, follows Georgina Campbell’s Jane, a highway patrol officer who sets out to hunt the man who brutally murdered her husband. It soon becomes clear the attack wasn’t an isolated incident, and Jane finds herself in a dangerous cat-and-mouse chase with the notorious “Satanic Slasher,” played by James Preston Rogers.

Early reactions have leaned negative. "Psycho Killer is a dull, uninspired mess," one tweet said, while another called it "a huge nothing burger of a movie," criticising the villain’s lack of intimidation, imitative kills, and action sequences heavy on CGI. Other comments pointed to weak performances, generic characters and a chopped-up plot with neutered or muted death scenes.

Not every response was scathing. Never Split Up podcaster Anthony Dapuzzo called it "simple, straightforward & admittedly generic" but praised the film’s stylistic approach and the design and portrayal of the Satanic Slasher.
