Raphinha returns to Barcelona squad as Rashford misses out with knee injury
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick received a boost ahead of Monday evening's La Liga trip to Girona as Raphinha was officially passed fit after missing the last three matches with an adductor injury. Marcus Rashford, however, remains sidelined with a knee issue as the Blaugrana look to bounce back from a heavy Copa del Rey defeat and reclaim top spot from Real Madrid.
Flick confirmed Rashford will not be involved in the Catalan derby and that several first-team players, including Pedri, Gavi and Andreas Christensen, remain unavailable. The 21-man squad does include young prospects Kochen and Tommy Marques as Barcelona aim to capitalise on Girona's recent struggles near the relegation zone.
Flick praised Raphinha’s impact, saying: "Raphinha will be able to play. He is very important because he gives us a lot. We miss him when he’s not there. You can see in training how he increases the team’s tempo and intensity.
