According to Kotaku, a Lucky Box vending machine stocked with rare, graded Pokémon cards was placed in the Pentagon food court and reportedly includes a Surging Sparks Pikachu card.

The Surging Sparks Pikachu is described as a full-art illustration of Pikachu wearing a Stellar-type Tera crown. Lucky Box’s machine, which the outlet describes as a gacha-style loot box for graded sports and trading cards, was seemingly put up around Christmas Eve last month, and Lucky Box briefly announced the placement in a now-deleted Threads post. Photos on an Army subreddit show a giant Charizard image on the machine’s side, but it is unclear whether the original Charizard card is actually inside.

Taking a chance on a Lucky Box prize can cost between $100 and $200. Lucky Box’s social feeds highlight big winners—some who have claimed rare Pokémon cards like a Venusaur or the ancient Mew promo from Pokémon: The First Movie and others who won autographed jerseys—and most of the company’s machines are shown in Las Vegas. It does not appear that Lucky Box has posted anyone winning a top prize from the machine at the Pentagon, and several specifics about the Pentagon placement remain unknown.
