Real Madrid confirmed they "actively collaborated with the investigation opened by UEFA" after accusations of racist abuse aimed at Vinicius Junior during the Champions League clash with Benfica. Gianluca Prestianni stands accused, and ugly scenes played out at Estadio da Luz.

The knockout play-off was halted for 10 minutes early in the second half after Vinicius scored in the 50th minute and celebrated in front of home supporters.
