Reba McEntire nominated for Grammy with Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson
Reba McEntire is nominated in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for "Trailblazer" alongside Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson at the Grammy Awards, and she will join Brandy Clark and Lukas Nelson in the show’s In Memoriam segment during the Sunday, February 1 broadcast, NBC Insider reported.
NBC Insider noted there’s a chance McEntire could be onstage to give an acceptance speech if the group wins the award.
The country star has won three Grammy Awards: Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1987 for "Whoever's in New England," Best Country Collaboration with Vocals in 1994 for "Does He Love You" (featuring Linda Davis), and Best Roots Gospel Album in 2018 for "Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope."
Overall, McEntire has been nominated 18 times, beginning with her first nomination and win in 1987. Recent nominations listed by NBC Insider include "Does He Love You (revisited)" with Dolly Parton in 2023 and this year’s "Trailblazer."
The report also highlights McEntire’s busy schedule: she was a Coach on Season 28 of The Voice, hosted Christmas in Rockefeller Center, and stars in NBC’s sitcom Happy’s Place, which airs Fridays at 8/7c and streams next day on Peacock.
What happens next is decided at the Grammy ceremony on February 1; whether McEntire and her collaborators will win and whether she will deliver an acceptance speech remains to be seen.
