Kotaku reports Capcom’s next mainline entry, Resident Evil Requiem, will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC on February 27, 2026, returning to Raccoon City and bringing series veteran Leon S. Kennedy back alongside new playable protagonist Grace Ashcroft.

Players will alternate between Grace, an FBI technical analyst investigating a string of deaths at a Raccoon City hotel where her mother Alyssa died about a decade earlier, and DSO agent Leon, who is probing incidents that might be connected to the Umbrella Corporation. Requiem lets players swap between first- and third-person perspectives at will, and offers options to lock a given character to one perspective; Grace’s sections lean into fear and stealth while Leon’s segments are described as more RE4-like action, with firearms and even enemy weapons available. Capcom says the game’s core concept is “addictive fear,” and enemies include zombies that will behave like they did in life (for example, a hotel maid might still try to clean mirrors).

Capcom has released numerous teasers and a Creator’s Message from director Koshi Nakanishi; Leon’s inclusion leaked in late 2025 and was later confirmed by the company. The publisher is positioning Requiem as part of the series’ 30th anniversary in 2026, and it is skipping PS4 and Xbox One—whether other veteran characters will appear has not been confirmed.
