Returning Star Wars Characters and Creatures in The Mandalorian & Grogu Trailer

The Mandalorian and Grogu has a new trailer that has won fans over after a disappointing teaser. The film’s plot remains mostly a mystery, but the trailer offers a clearer sense of scale and shows how the story shifts from streaming to the big screen. It peppers the footage with returning faces and alien species from across the franchise: The Mandalorian, The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Book of Boba Fett, and species seen in Solo, The Rise of Skywalker and the original Star Wars.

Notable highlights include the Hutt Twins, introduced in The Book of Boba Fett and appearing to reassert control from their home on Nal Hutta, and Rotta the Hutt, now grown into a gladiator role and set to be voiced by Jeremy Allen White. The trailer also presents a series of chess-piece aliens reminiscent of the holoboard game between Chewbacca and R2‑D2, and a Dragonsnake, a swamp-dwelling trap-door monster.
