Reviewer prefers Lululemon Wunder Train after trying Alo and Athleta leggings
Businessinsider: Chloe Caldwell tried similar pairs of leggings at Alo, Lululemon, and Athleta to see which would be best for working out.
At Alo she tried the high-waist Airlift leggings in a limited-edition clover green; the fabric is described as 82% polyester and 18% elastane, and Caldwell found them flattering and well constructed but not very breathable, somewhat small, and better suited to athleisure than sweaty workouts — a takeaway that made the $134 price hard to justify. At Lululemon she tested the Wunder Train no-line high-rise tight (77% nylon, 23% Lycra elastane) and said the material felt soft, thick but flexible, had no center seam and an extra-thick waistband, and seemed suitable and flattering for a range of workouts; the pair cost $108 and she noted she already owns older Lululemon leggings that have lasted years.
She finished at Athleta with the Elation ultra-high-rise in shadow gray (75% nylon, 25% Lycra elastane), calling the fabric soft and stretchy but the fit less flattering, with a thin elastic band at the waistband that dug in; that pair listed for $89 and was seen on sale for $70. Overall, Caldwell said she would most likely buy the Lululemon pair, and she remains interested in trying other Athleta styles as she pursues a goal to exercise at least four days a week in 2026.
