Rhys revealed as Jean Baptiste in High Potential; Arthur is abducted
Collider reports that High Potential's Season 2 midseason premiere picks up after the stolen Rembrandt case and confirms Rhys as Jean Baptiste, while ending with Arthur abducted and Morgan under renewed threat.
The episode follows the Major Crimes team as they investigate the museum curator Cyrus Carrow's death and the missing Rembrandt. Karadec and Morgan clash over procedure after finding clues at Cyrus' apartment and Rhys' hotel room; the team eventually learns that Linda and Greg Foster faked the theft for insurance, paid Cyrus to steal the painting, and then killed him when he tried to ransom it. Morgan finds Rhys with the painting, confirming his Jean Baptiste identity, but the episode makes clear Rhys is not a killer — he retrieves the artwork for its owner Miriam Weisman and the team later celebrates while tensions between Morgan, Karadec and Captain Wagner linger.
Meanwhile, Arthur, who earlier survived an ambush tied to Roman's backpack, warns Morgan that people will kill for its contents; Selena links a suspect's photo to the backpack, and Arthur is later taken from his truck with his phone left behind. The man also follows Morgan to after-work drinks, leaving the season's Roman-backpack storyline unresolved. High Potential airs Tuesdays at 9:00 P.M. EST on ABC.
