Cbssports reports Anthony Davis' agent Rich Paul is pushing the Dallas Mavericks to trade the forward before the Feb. 5 trade deadline.

Davis has been sidelined after injuring his hand in Dallas' loss to the Utah Jazz and was seen in a sling; a second opinion determined surgery was not necessary and the Mavericks said Davis is expected to "heal from the injury" in six weeks. Marc Stein reported Wednesday that Dallas is in active trade talks regarding Davis but is resisting "selling low," while Paul believes Davis' best chance at a contract extension next summer would come on a different team.

What happens next is uncertain: Dallas could keep Davis into the summer if it does not like offers, and he could try to rebuild trade value if he returns this season. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies' Ja Morant, speaking in Berlin during the league's Global Games, shrugged off trade speculation with "Live with it" and cut off follow-up questions with "Next question"; Memphis is reportedly open to listening on Morant but there has been little tangible market interest so far.
