Roku adds nine free live channels you can watch without a Roku TV
Roku has quietly expanded the free streaming available in the Roku Channel app, adding nine new channels to its Live TV lineup. The Live TV section functions like traditional cable: scheduled programming with ad breaks, no fast-forwarding or rewinding, and all channels are free.
The new additions are Pokémon; The Bernie Mac Show; Americas Funniest Home Videos; Willow Sports; Fuel TV; Felicity; Cougar Town; Blossom; and MeatEater.
To access them, open the Roku Channel app (available on any smart device), choose "Live TV" from the left menu, and search for a channel by name. After you watch a channel once it will appear in your recently watched section.
Roku added six free channels less than a month ago, including 24/7 Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Overtime. For viewers who dont mind watching whatever episode is airing, the expanded Live TV lineup could replace one or more paid streaming subscriptions.
