Goal reports that transfer claims linking Chelsea with a proposed €125m-plus-€25m add-ons (around €150m) offer for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior have been dismissed by transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano. Romano said on YouTube: "Reports on Vinicius Jr and Chelsea are completely wide of the mark. No talks, no bid, no negotiations. Vini Jr remains completely focused on Real Madrid, contract situation to be assessed."

The speculation followed reports in Spain that the 25-year-old and 2024 Ballon d'Or runner-up has been unsettled amid stalled contract talks — his current deal runs until 2027 — and linked with moves to Saudi Arabia. The rumours intensified after Vinicius was jeered by supporters when he was substituted in Real Madrid's 5-1 win over Real Betis, and after Chelsea sacked Enzo Maresca and appointed Liam Rosenior, with outlets suggesting such a signing would be a major statement.

Vinicius's future remains unresolved. The report notes he faces competition for minutes from the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo, his contract is described as "ticking down to its final 12 months in the summer," and Madrid could be forced to accept a lower fee if he does not extend. The piece adds Vinicius could still extend on the club's terms, or, if he does not, clubs such as Chelsea might enter the race but would likely face heavy competition.
