Rumored February Nintendo Direct could unveil a wave of Switch 2 ports
Rumors from podcasting insider NateTheHate and YouTube channel GameXplain, corroborated by VGC, say Nintendo may hold a Partner Showcase-style Direct in early February, likely around Feb. 3-5.
Because this is reported to be a Partner Showcase rather than a full first-party Direct, expectations are for a large number of Switch 2 ports rather than big new first-party reveals like a new 3D Mario game.
Observers note several titles still lacking firm Switch 2 dates that could appear, including Elden Ring and Borderlands 4 (the latter recently rumored for late February). Other rumored port candidates include Monster Hunter Wilds, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (reported to be coming sooner than expected), Refantazio, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and Final Fantasy XVI.
There’s also uncertainty around Microsoft support: some reports suggest a Call of Duty could arrive on Switch 2 in spring, while a Halo: Combat Evolved remake has not been confirmed for the platform. Lower-hanging candidates mentioned are Sea of Thieves, Diablo 4, Avowed, and even Starfield as a potential big get.
New game announcements remain possible but seem less likely than a slew of AAA ports; FromSoftware’s multiplayer action game Duskbloods is already expected sometime this year. Official timing and the full lineup have not been confirmed, so these details remain speculative until Nintendo speaks.
