Polygon reports that Jagex has published RuneScape’s 2026 roadmap, centring on Havenhythe — described as the largest area expansion in the game’s quarter century — and a broader programme called the Road to Restoration.

Havenhythe will arrive in two parts: the first in spring, which brings two story quests, two early-game bosses, two miniquests and a hunter skill cap increase to 110; and a second part next winter that will introduce an end-game boss, the Ghrazi Blood Knights. The roadmap follows the removal of the Treasure Hunter mechanic, a change voted on by nearly 125,000 players, and includes a slate of modernisations such as a revamped UI, visual updates across regions including Misthalin and Asgarnia, combat style modernisation, API plugin support, rebalancing, and changes to dailyscape content, Auras and the Grand Exchange.

Additional 2026 plans include an avatar overhaul in April (models, animations, hairstyles and clothing), upgrades to player-owned houses with construction rising to 120 and a new furniture recipe system, more seasonal events, Leagues II with new relics and rewards, and RuneFest returning Oct. 3–4 at the NEC in Birmingham with a 6,000 capacity; further details on some updates will be released as the year progresses.
