Sadie Sink addresses mystery role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
MovieWeb reports that Sadie Sink addressed the mystery surrounding her MCU role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day during a recent stop on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Speaking about fan speculation, Sink said, "It's torture. There's so much speculation. I feel like there's a new character every week. I tell people. The people I know. I found out through online theories. Before I got cast, there was speculation online that said, 'Sadie Sink is gonna be in the new Spider-Man.' I was like, 'I am?' Sure enough, two days later, they asked me to do it. Those theories, there's sometimes some truth to [them]." The most common fan suggestion is that she plays a variant of X-Men member Jean Grey. Brand New Day is the sequel to No Way Home, wrapped filming last month, returns Tom Holland as Spider-Man and was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton; the cast also includes Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tramell Tillman and Liza Colón-Zayas.
Images and video from last October's Glasgow set reportedly showed Sink stretched out on a gurney and being loaded into a black van, with two people wheeling her who were rumored to represent the Department of Damage Control. The footage suggested she either possesses superhuman powers or was caught in the crossfire of a battle, but her character's identity remains a torturous mystery; the film is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.
