Sam Raimi says he'd love to make another Spider-Man film, but not right now
Director Sam Raimi told the Associated Press that he would be open to making another Spider-Man movie, during an interview about his new film Send Help.
Raimi said, "I think the kids would like to see [Tobey's Spider-Man]." He added, "Right now, Marvel is very successful on their own tangent with their own Spider-Man, where he is involved with The Avengers and the other superheroes."
On whether he would return, Raimi said, "I don’t think it makes sense right now to break up that great, successful run they're having, just to allow me to make another Spider-Man movie. I'd love to. The day might come, and I’d love to do it."
The article notes that, even with Tobey Maguire making a comeback alongside Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield, Raimi believes now wouldn’t be the right time; it also suggests that, given the current state of the MCU, a standalone story revisiting Maguire’s Spider-Man might be a bit much.
For now, the piece says Tom Holland will return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set for release on 31 July 2026. Whether Raimi will make another Spider-Man film — and if so when — remains unclear.
