ZDNET tested the Samsung QN90F Neo QLED in its Louisville lab and recommends it as a strong value compared with pricier OLED models, noting current discounts of up to 40% at Samsung, Best Buy and Amazon and savings of up to $6,000 when buying directly from Samsung. In lab and real‑world tests ZDNET found the QN90F delivers excellent picture and sound, with a picture the reviewer described as almost as vibrant and detailed as the S95F OLED and with slightly better object‑tracking audio.

Calman verification tests were used to evaluate the panel's ability to recreate images in RGB and black‑and‑white. The reviewer said the QN90F favors warmer tones compared with the S95F's blue shift, which can make some scenes appear slightly oversaturated and push black‑and‑white films toward a pale sepia.

The QLED also handled fine detail well, though the AI‑assisted picture mode can make some fast motion look a bit fuzzy. On audio and gaming, ZDNET reported the QN90F produced richer, more three‑dimensional sound than the S95F in side‑by‑side listening tests. The TV includes a gaming dashboard to adjust input latency and refresh rates; input latency was fine for most shooters and action games the reviewer tried, but rhythm and platforming titles showed a noticeable delay even at the lowest latency.
