Amazon has dropped the price of Samsung's 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 (G93SC series) from $1,249 to $900, a $349 reduction the outlet says is available for a limited time.

The massive 49" panel runs at 5120 by 1440 resolution, effectively matching two 27-inch QHD monitors fused together, and uses an 1800R curve to wrap around your field of view for a single, ultra-wide canvas.

Performance highlights include a 240Hz refresh rate and an ultra-low 0.03ms response time, with support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to help minimize tearing and stutter in fast-paced gaming.

The OLED panel delivers deep blacks, bright whites and strong color depth without the glow or bleed common to LCDs. Connectivity includes HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort and a built-in USB hub, and the monitor can detect active sources and offers picture-in-picture and split-screen options for multitasking or using two systems side by side.

Kotaku notes that this kind of discount on a flagship OLED gaming monitor is rare, making the G9 far more compelling at $900; the sale is described as limited-time, and Amazon did not specify how long the price will last.
