Santa Ragione lambasts Epic Games Store over Horses delisting
Indie publisher Santa Ragione has again criticised the Epic Games Store's handling of Horses after comments from EGS vice-president Steve Allison in a Game File interview. The art game was delisted from both the Epic and Steam storefronts, and Santa Ragione says the platforms applied uneven standards to adult games and failed to clearly explain why Horses was removed.
Allison said Santa Ragione went through the self-publishing process and that Horses had been rated M via the International Age Rating Coalition, which led to its initial listing on Epic. He added that Epic's trust and safety team took a fresh look, performed its own IARC assessment and judged Horses to be Adults Only (AO), prompting removal a day before launch, and noted "we love that studio" while reiterating Epic does not carry AO games except in cases involving blockchain or NFT technology.
