Savannah Guthrie shifts approach in pleas for missing mother
Savannah Guthrie has been posting emotional videos asking whoever has her mother, Nancy, to bring her home. Tracy Walder, a former CIA member and FBI special agent, says Guthrie appears to be trying "a different angle" and is not being directed by investigators.
In a video posted Sunday, Guthrie urged the person with Nancy to "do the right thing" and said "it’s never too late," expressing hope that the 84-year-old, who has not been seen since Jan. 31, is still alive. Investigators found a black glove near Nancy’s Tucson home that matches the glove shown in surveillance footage; the FBI says the DNA on the glove differs from other DNA at the scene and final lab results are pending before a profile is uploaded to a national database.
Walder noted that genealogy testing can take three to eight weeks. At least four people were briefly detained and later released following a recent operation, and no suspect has been identified.
