Prime Video’s Next Prestige Crime Thriller, Scarpetta, Debuts March 11, 2026
For the past few years, Reacher has been Prime Video’s undisputed book-adaptation champ, dominating streaming charts, spawning the spinoff Neagley and turning Alan Ritchson into a global action star. While Season 4 and the spin-off remain on the horizon, Amazon is now lining up its next prestige upgrade: Scarpetta.
Based on Patricia Cornwell’s long-running novels, Scarpetta premieres on Prime Video on March 11, 2026. Nicole Kidman stars as Kay Scarpetta, a forensic pathologist who solves crimes with intellect, science and cutting-edge technology rather than brute force. Jamie Lee Curtis co-stars as Scarpetta’s older sister.
The series is being developed by Liz Sarnoff, whose résumé includes Lost and Barry, and lists David Gordon Green among its directors. Expect a slow-burn forensic thriller in which tension comes from psychology, evidence and moral pressure as much as from physical confrontation.
