Scary Movie actor Jayne Trcka dies at 62
Movieweb reports that Scary Movie star and bodybuilder Jayne Trcka has died aged 62, her son announced on Jan. 5, 2026, saying she passed on Dec. 12, 2025, at her home in San Diego.
Trcka was best known for her film debut as gym teacher Miss Mann in the first Scary Movie (2000). She had earlier competed in bodybuilding shows in the 1980s and appeared in fitness magazines, later working as a realtor, and also had roles in the 2006 comedy Cattle Call and on Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and The Drew Carey Show; she also appeared in the music video "Telephone" by Lady Gaga and Beyoncé.
The exact cause of Trcka's death is unknown: her son said he was not aware of any health issues, according to Metro, and a San Diego Medical Advisor spokesperson told The Sun that "there was trauma to the body, but [they] wouldn’t be able to indicate cause of death at this time." The report asks for privacy for Trcka's loved ones and notes fans may revisit the original film ahead of the long-awaited Scary Movie 6, with a possible nod to her role.
