Goal reports Senegal beat Morocco 1-0 in extra time to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

After a 0-0 draw in regulation, Pape Gueye scored in extra time to settle a tightly contested final that featured a string of big chances: Yassine Bounou denied Iliman Ndiaye, Ayoub El Kaabi squandered a clear opportunity, and Abde Ezzalzouli missed further openings. In the third minute of added time a Senegal goal by Abdoulaye Seck was ruled out for an infringement in the build-up, and moments later the referee awarded Morocco a VAR-reviewed penalty after Brahim Diaz fell in the box.

Senegal protested and briefly left the pitch, delaying the match for over 10 minutes before returning; Diaz's penalty was then saved by Edouard Mendy. Senegal, appearing in their third final in the last four editions, prevailed and will be remembered for Gueye's winner and Mendy's save, while Morocco — who came close to ending a 50-year wait for another continental trophy on home soil — will leave to fight another day.
