ZDNET's Kerry Wan outlines seven settings that can extend battery life on Samsung Galaxy phones, noting many Galaxy devices include features users rarely need.

The recommendations include enabling Dark Mode to reduce power on AMOLED panels; turning on Adaptive Brightness so the ambient sensor adjusts screen luminosity; uninstalling or force-stopping unnecessary preinstalled apps to prevent background use; identifying and restricting power-draining apps via Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background usage limits; downloading music, podcasts and maps over Wi‑Fi before travel; scheduling the Always-On Display rather than leaving it on continuously; and selecting the Light performance profile to prioritise battery and cooling over raw speed.

Wan says these changes should preserve the user experience and intentionally avoids advising reductions to screen resolution or refresh rate.

The article also recommends quick low-battery measures—turn on Power Saving, switch off data roaming and location services, and disable Always-On Display—and suggests using those measures when your phone is under 15% battery and still a few hours from a charger.
