Shameless Sees Streaming Surge on Apple TV Store
Collider reports that Showtime dramedy Shameless has risen on streaming charts on the PVOD Apple TV Store, five years after the series finale and close to 15 years after it first aired. The William H. Macy‑led series, based on the British show of the same name, ran for 11 seasons from 2011 to 2020 and is also available to stream in various countries on platforms like Netflix, where it has seen an uptick in popularity.
Reviews varied by season: close to half of the seasons earned a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, the remainder scored above 70% except for Season 10 at 25%, and the show holds an overall matching 82% critic and audience score. Macy and Joan Cusack received Emmy nominations, with Cusack winning in 2015; Emmy Rossum was never nominated until she exited after Season 9.
The series also won three additional Emmys in non‑acting categories. The outlet lists current and upcoming projects for the cast: Macy recently directed the feature Krystal; Rossum made her directorial debut on Shameless, has directed on Animal Kingdom, and was recently seen in the Apple TV thriller The Crowded Room.
