Shearer: Arsenal still hold destiny but recent form is a concern — Goal

Shearer accepts that the Gunners still have their destiny in their own hands, though a Manchester City win in their game in hand would move them to within two points of Mikel Arteta’s side. He warned that the Premier League title remains with Arsenal only if they win every game, and pointed out they have won something like two of their last seven matches, which he called a massive concern.

He also noted the Etihad meeting in April was always going to be a key game. After what happened on Wednesday evening, Shearer said he would be looking to the next match and would love it to be a huge one — the North London derby at Tottenham, who also have a new manager.

Having been in a similar position with Blackburn, he knows what it is like when people ask whether a lead will be thrown away, and what it feels like to be clawed back.
