Collider reports that after Taylor Sheridan wrapped the second season of Landman, viewers around the world have flocked to his 2015 neo-Western Sicario, pushing it into the Apple TV global VOD top 10 in more than 10 countries.

Sicario, directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Sheridan, stars Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin and follows FBI agent Kate Macer as she joins a government task force in the escalating war on drugs at the U.S.–Mexico border. The film is streaming on Peacock in America and is also available to rent or buy on other VOD platforms such as Prime Video; it earned 91% from critics and 85% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, both higher than its 2018 sequel Sicario: Day of the Soldado, which returned only Brolin and Benicio del Toro (Jon Bernthal has a small role in the first film).

Sheridan made his feature screenwriting debut on Sicario, which helped launch a run of hits for Villeneuve including Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 and both Dune films; Villeneuve is also directing the next James Bond movie at Amazon. Paramount has meanwhile announced Yellowstone offshoots, with Marshals set for March 1 and The Madison premiering March 14 and already renewed for a second season.
