Simple Peak character designs make striking cosplays

A group of friends posted a set of Peak cosplays to r/PEAKgame (u/RedditandBlade), proving how effective simple character designs can be. Each member wears a different colour and facial expression and sports sashes with badges taken directly from the game. The team reproduced small accessories with care, including marshmallows, a first aid kit, and a hand-stitched Bing Bong plushie, and even matched the backpacks to the in-game look.

When a design is pared back, the details matter. All elements of the costumes were made by the group. The spherical heads are described as "EVA foam patterned spheres with 3d printed facial features and mesh eyes to allow for sight, coupled with hot glue foam inserts for wearing them on our heads, and caulk, sandpaper, primer/paint/clear to finish." A tutorial was also posted to the Instagram of wtfrederick.

The piece notes that a simple character can bring a lot of joy to players, and that this set of cosplays changed the writer’s mind about dressing as Peak characters.
