Skyblivion shows new screenshots of Ayleid ruin after delay
TES Renewal Project, the volunteer team behind the unofficial Oblivion remake Skyblivion, resurfaced this week with a set of new screenshots a few weeks after announcing a last‑minute delay. The images, posted to the projects official Bluesky account, show a dimly lit Ayleid ruin called Wendelbek.
Work on the ground‑up remake has been ongoing for almost 14 years. The project had looked set for a 2025 release, but in December project lead Rebelzize said the date would be pushed to 2026 to allow time to overcome various "challenges."
The developers acknowledged theyve "been a bit quiet since our last update" but added that more of the project is "entering its final state, including Wendelbek." Not much else was shared beyond the vague update, though the screenshots suggest the team has kept the game's original vibe while boosting visual fidelity using the Skyrim engine.
There is still no exact release date for Skyblivion; fans are left hoping for a more substantial update soon.
