Skyrim lead: Bethesda could learn from Baldur's Gate 3 on meaningful choices
Former Skyrim lead Bruce Nesmith said Bethesda could look to RPGs like Baldur's Gate 3 for inspiration when developing new games such as The Elder Scrolls 6.
He explained that Bethesda games in the last decade have become less dynamic to meet the needs of the games and audience expectations, and that having the world be more fluid “would be very cool.”
Nesmith pointed to Baldur's Gate 3 as an example, saying it felt like choices were meaningful because a choice could make a big difference in your play. He added that Bethesda has “maybe pulled back from doing [those meaningful choices] a little bit,” which he believes takes away from a game's impact.
“Bethesda could look at Baldur's Gate 3 and draw lessons from that smash hit,” he said. Only time will tell, and sadly, there'll be a lot of it still to come.
