Skyrim lead cautious about $100 game price rise
Bethesda veteran and Skyrim lead designer Bruce Nesmith spoke to PressBoxPR about his time at the studio, touching on topics from engine choices and Todd Howard's habits to deep-cut lore and the ongoing debate over $100 videogames.
On higher prices he said economies are struggling and that developers would be wise not to push prices higher, but added that gamers "are a special breed" and "will pay for what they want." He also said he would be loath to reveal how much he has paid for gaming, joking about a fancy gaming table he paid too much for.
The piece noted The Elder Scrolls 6 may sell at that price on PC but could also be part of a Game Pass push as Starfield was, where subscribers got access but could play earlier with a $31.49 "premium" upgrade.
Nesmith gave the interview while promoting his Loki Redeemed novels and discussed his past work on The Elder Scrolls and Fallout as well as ideas for where both series could go next.
